The College of Arts and Sciences - with 46 full-time faculty, 19 departments, and 13 undergraduate degrees - is the largest of Nyack's seven schools. Its mission is to provide students with a liberal arts education which will serve as a foundation for the pursuit of lifelong learning, ethical living, and a successful career
The liberal arts core curriculum of the College of Arts and Sciences is the foundation upon which all Nyack students build their academic experience. It is designed to develop higher order skills in the areas of critical thinking, technological competency, written and oral communication, scientific and quantitative reasoning and information literacy.
Our diverse and international faculty come with real-world experience and is committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship. More importantly, our small classes and 13-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio provide students with a nurturing environment and personalized attention in which the Instructors also serve as caring mentors and academic advisors.
