Nyack is Runner-up at Houghton Tournament

Houghton, NY - Nyack College traveled to Houghton College this past weekend to play number 17 in the nation (NAIA) Roberts Wesleyan College and the hightly respected Houghton.
Friday night saw Nyack square off with Roberts Wesleyan. The two teams battled back in forth in what ended up to be a 3 hour, double overtime, 0-0 tie. The game will go down in the record books as a tie, but for the sake of the tournament they went to penalty kicks to end the game. Roberts shot first and scored. Then Nyack missed on the first attempt. Roberts made their next 2 shots until Nyack keeper
Matt Andre (West Springfield, MA) made a save. The score was tied going into the final shot for each team. Roberts went first, but Andre made another great save for Nyack to give them an opportunity to win. Freshman forward
Seth Galloway (Penang, Malaysia) had the last shot for Nyack and he scored the goal for the win.
Nyack wrapped up the weekend with a win over head coach
Keith Davie's alma mater, Houghton College, by the score of 4-1. This was the first win of the year for the Warriors and brings their record to 1-2-1 overall. Scoring for Nyack were

Andres Martinez.
Nyack finished second in the tournament due to two wins by Cedarville, 2-0 over Houghton, and 1-0 over Roberts Wesleyan.
Nyack is back in action on Thursday on Moseley Field against visiting University of D.C. at 3:30pm.
