The Office of Student Development in Rockland has part-time positions available for Area Coordinators working from August 13, 2012 through May 10, 2013 in female dormitories. Working approximately 25 hours per week over the 9-month academic year and reporting directly to the Resident Director of the applicable residence hall, the primary position objective is to assist with fostering a residential environment that contributes to healthy, holistic student learning and growth. Duties and responsibilities include assisting in the supervision and development of resident assistants; providing developmentally appropriate programming to support the educational, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of resident students; informally counseling and mentoring students; assisting in the administration of college policy and regulations within the residence hall; contributing to the Residence Life team; and promoting safety and security.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree
2. 2-years related experience in a university setting
3. Demonstrated ability to relate well with college students and residential student staff
4. Ability to integrate Christian faith into student development theories and practices
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
6. Demonstrates professional confidentiality and peacemaking skills
