Vocalists:

Perform from memory with piano.
Arias and art songs are recommended. Those auditioning for the Vocal Performance degree must include one piece in Italian and one in English.

Pianists and Guitarists:

Perform from memory.
Be prepared to perform scales and arpeggios.

Instrumentalists:
|
May perform with music.
Be prepared to perform scales and arpeggios.

¤ Music Education, Church Music, Composition,
and Performance degree programs:
Present two solo pieces (vocalists must present three),
classical in nature and contrasting in style.
Sight-reading, ear-training, and piano skills will be evaluated.
A Basic Music Skills Assessment Test will be given after the audition.
¤ Bachelor of Arts in Music degree program and Music Minors:
Present one piece, in any style, that shows a readiness
for college-level music study.
Sight-reading, ear-training, and piano skills will be evaluated.
A Basic Music Skills Assessment Test will be given after the audition.
¤ For non-music majors auditioning for a
Music Ensemble Achievement Grant:
Present two solo pieces, classical in nature and contrasting in style.
Sight reading skills will be evaluated.
♪ You may set up an appointment (weekdays only)
by contacting the Music Office.
♪ You may send in a video, CD, DVD, or audio tape
if you live futher than 200 miles from Nyack.
♪ An accompanist is provided.
Please fax or send a copy of your music to the Music Office
one week before your audition.
♪ The School of Music will notify the prospective student by letter concerning
acceptance into the music program and/or the awarding of Music Grants.
