Bibliography for the Integration of Faith
and Learning
and the Development of a Christian
World View
Nyack College has had a policy of
requiring a faith/learning integration paper of all faculty seeking tenure.
In order to aid those candidates seeking to fulfill this requirement, a bibliography
was assembled of relevant categories and items in 1997. The basic categories and entries utilized
were taken from Brian J. Walsh and J. Richard Middleton, “A Bibliography
We Can’t Live Without,” in The Transforming Vision: Shaping
a Christian World View (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 1984, pages
203-214).Use was also made of an updated form of their bibliography in James
Sire, Discipleship of the Mind (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press,
1990).This bibliography has been subsequently expanded by the addition of
further entries and categories and is offered here with the hope that it will
be useful for anyone attempting to work out the relationship between the teachings
of the Christian faith and the truths of general learning.
